Sanodure Black CRO (Black)
Black CRO is a commonly used economical black dye, characterized by its particularly fast dyeing speed. This product is mainly designed for quick dyeing, while its lightfastness and heat resistance are inferior to other black dyes from Clariant. Therefore, this dye is limited to indoor products, and customers with lightfastness requirements should conduct tests in advance or consult Clariant technical personnel.

Applicable pH:7.0±0.5
pH adjustment:Use acetic acid or dilute sodium hydroxide
Water quality requirements:Best to use deionized water
Stability:Avoid pH below 6, otherwise gel-like precipitate will form, leading to reduced dyeing power
Sealing:Recommended to use Anodal® ASL
3. Bath Solution Preparation
When preparing the bath solution, it must be fully dissolved.
It is best to pre-dissolve in a separate container using 5 times the amount of hot water (80-90°C) compared to the dye. Then, stir the pre-dissolved mother liquor into the dyeing bath.
4. Application Range
Black CRO dye is particularly recommended for quick dyeing, characterized by:
- Fast dyeing
- Room temperature dyeing
- Dyeing of continuous oxidized films (coil oxidation or film)
- Dyeing of castings with high silicon content
- Dyeing of low-adsorption oxidized films
For products with high requirements for lightfastness and weather resistance, the following special dyes are recommended:
- Deep Black MLW
- Black GLX
- Deep Black H3LW
- Deep Black HBL
5. Usage Instructions
5.1 Room Temperature Dyeing
Using 20 g/l of black CRO dye can achieve a deep black effect under standard room temperature conditions.

5.3 Supplementing the Bath Solution
Due to impurities leading to reduced dyeing power, if within permissible limits, restoration can be achieved by adding new dye.

6.3 Bleeding of unsealed dye
Unsealed dyed products cannot be removed with dilute nitric acid and sulfuric acid. They can be treated with 10% nitric acid + 5% potassium permanganate for 1 – 5 min, and then must be neutralized in a 5% sodium bisulfite solution.
