1. Dye Technical Parameters
Appearance:Granular, black-brown
Composition:Metal azo dye complex
Density:600 g/l
Solubility:At 20°C, 30g/l
Storage period:Under sealed original packaging, it can actually be stored permanently.
Safety data:See the Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for details.
2. Application Conditions
| Concentration | Dyeing temperature | Dyeing time | |
| Light color | 0.05 - 0.2 g/l | 25 - 60°C | 10 - 20 min |
| Medium color | 0.3 - 0.8 g/l | 25 - 60°C | 10 - 20 min |
| Dark color | 1.0 - 3.0 g/l | 25 - 60°C | 20 - 30 min |
Applicable pH:5.5±0.5
pH adjustment:It is recommended to add Anodal Dye Buffer to adjust to pH 5.6.
Water quality requirements:Deionized water is recommended.
Sealing requirements:Anodal® ASL is recommended.
3. Bath Solution Preparation
When preparing the bath solution, it must be fully dissolved.
It is best to pre-dissolve in a separate container using five times the amount of dye in hot water (80-90°C). Then, stir the pre-dissolved stock solution into the dyeing bath.
4. Dye Lightfastness
Dark color (12 µm):6 (ISO 2135)
5. Instructions
Ion sensitivity:This dye is very sensitive to aluminum and sulfate ions; workpieces that have been anodized must be thoroughly cleaned before dyeing.
Room temperature dyeing:Dyeing in a bath solution at 20 °C / 68 °F is more stable than at 60 °C / 140 °F. However, the dyeing concentration and time must be increased accordingly.
Dye removal:Undyed dye cannot actually be removed with dilute nitric acid or dilute sulfuric acid. The best removal method is with 10% dilute nitric acid + 5% potassium permanganate. After treatment, it should be neutralized in a 5% sodium bisulfite solution for 1-5 minutes.
Color blending:The following dyes are most suitable for blending with Olive Brown 2R.
